Hundreds of brides-to-be, (and even a handful of grooms!) headed to Bride Tasmania’s twelfth Wedding Expo on Sunday August 27 at Princes Wharf No 1.
And there was plenty for all to see and do – with around 70 of Tasmania’s leading wedding suppliers in attendance – all helping couples plan for their upcoming nuptials. The effort put into the displays, master classes and competitions that were held at the various exhibition sites was amazing. There were makeup classes, hair styling demonstrations, wedding cake tastings, event styling and reception displays, and the chance to win a plethora of different prizes – including jewellery, a honeymoon, photography packages, romantic restaurant dinners and bridal bouquets. And of course, there was the usual big drawcard of the wedding fashion parades, where many brides-to-be had the chance to find their dream gown. There was also food, wine and loads of giveaways.
It wasn’t just happily engaged couples that turned out for Tasmania’s largest wedding event either. Friends, family and bridal parties also enjoyed the day on Hobart’s waterfront – with many discovering new products and service providers they hadn’t known existed in Tasmania – such as cosmetic dentists, stationers, wedding gift providers, and some great options for hens and bucks parties.
We would like to offer a huge thanks to all those who visited the Expo, or who exhibited at the event. Special mention must go to Harvey James Management for the models, to Audrey Hair for styling the catwalk models’ hair, and to WIN Television newsreader, Lucy Breaden for being our wonderful MC for the day. Finally, thank you to the staff of Weeding Hire, Alive Technologies and Princes Wharf No 1 for making the whole event possible.
In 2018 the Bride Tasmania Wedding Expo will again be held at Princes Wharf No 1. So stay tuned to weddingstas.com.au and our social media for more dates and details as they become available.
