Wedding date: November 19, 2016
Although they worked in the same building, and for the same company, Kate and Colin did not meet properly until the company they worked for decided to combine the Christmas parties of two departments. The company’s senior management team wanted their two departments to get along better. As things turned out their plan worked beautifully, because Kate and Colin [who were working in different departments] are now happily married!
Kate and Colin’s wedding ceremony was held on a private stud farm in front of majestic Mount Roland, near Sheffield, Tasmania. “The picturesque view made our day all the more magical”, said Kate. “I walked down the aisle to Coffey Anderson, ‘Better Today’, and can honestly say that I cannot even remember hearing it playing,” she added. The happy couple held their reception at the Devonport Golf Club, where they danced to “I don’t dance” by Lee Brice which they now class as “their song”. “Our day went way too quickly, but I am so grateful to our photographers, Flick Plus Dave who captured everything so beautifully,” Kate said.
Highlights and hitches
“We could not have asked for a better day,” Kate said. “The setting was stunning and thankfully, we had no major hitches on the day. I was so excited to be getting married under the mountain in my home town, and to be arriving in my dad’s pride and joy, a GT Falcon, made it all the more special.”
Kate added, “Whilst I’m sure every girl’s dream is to have their dad walk them down the aisle, this was definitely a special moment for me, and [seeing] Colin’s face as I walked down the aisle is something I will never forget. It was perfect.”
