Advice from a wedding transport expert

Today, we chat with Mel Goodwin, co-owner of Goodwins Classic Car Hire, about choosing the best set of wheels to transport you to your wedding day.

What are some of the things brides and grooms should consider when they’re choosing their wedding transport?

The Bride and groom should definitely ensure that the company they choose is fully accredited and insured – this just offers that extra bit of peace of mind on your special day, and is one less thing to stress about!

What are some of the trends you are seeing when it comes to wedding transport?

We are finding that people are after something different. We offer three classic Aussie cars. Choosing the transport can be the perfect way to get the Groom involved in the wedding prep.

What do you think makes for the best transport?

The cars you choose to hire need to be in tiptop condition. As we are fully accredited and insured we ensure the utmost is done to get you to your wedding on time and in style.

How can a couple match a particular wedding theme with their transport?

We are more than happy to discuss your theme with you and see what we can do to match it. We are happy to put a coloured ribbon (rather than the traditional white) on the cars… it’s completely up to you!

What is your favourite part about your job?

We love having everyone complimenting us on our cars. It gives us that boost to keep going that extra mile for our couples to make their day extra special.

What advice would you give to brides and grooms to ensure their wedding day runs more smoothly?

Plan, plan, and plan some more! Make sure you try to book your cars, venue and celebrant well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Goodwins Classic Car Hire are currently offering Bride Tasmania readers $50 off their wedding package when making your booking.
