Second to your wedding dress, getting your bridal make-up perfect is crucial to looking beautiful on your big day.
We chatted with Savoy Day Spa’s Manager of Beauty Services, Sam Shrimplin to get her advice on how to look bride-worthy.
What are some of the things brides should consider when they’re searching for their make-up artist/beautician?
One of the most important things brides should consider is professionalism. Finding someone who will listen to exactly what you want and perform the treatment to your expectations. Also consider having a trial run with your therapist before the big day to make sure things will run nice and smoothly and you know what to expect on the day.
What are some trends you are seeing when it comes to wedding make-up?
Current trends for wedding make-up are more towards the natural looking style. It is about bringing out the natural features and beauty in the person with finishing touches that emphasise their strong points.
What’s your favourite bridal beauty look?
Simple, elegant and natural.
What is your favourite part about your job?
My favourite part is getting to meet new people all the time and developing strong relationships with clients over the years. It is great when people leave our spa feeling wonderful and revitalised.
What is something unique to your service that you are especially proud of?
Savoy Day Spa is unique in offering the whole entire package. We have all facilities including pool, spa, sauna and steam room. A lot of people combine treatments with the spa area to experience the full relaxation. We can accommodate hen’s parties through to wedding make-up and all beauty needs. Even a remedial massage for the pre-wedding tension.
What tips would you give to brides to make their wedding day beauty preparation runs smoothly?
To ensure the big day runs smoothly we suggest organising in advance to make sure everything is set to go. Also using the prior months for trials.
