Once home to the world’s largest wood chip mill, this 43 hectare waterfront site on the east coast of Tasmania is being transformed by a bunch of provocateurs intent on charting a more sustainable path.
We believe in doing things differently. A Spring Bay Mill wedding is more than just a special day. It’s a whole host of memorable experiences for you and your guests to connect with each other and with nature.
Glasshouses, chippers, log lines and slew walls – we’re definitely not your average events venue. We’ve up-cycled the Mill’s industrial past into spaces both stunning and functional for your special day. The edgy, rustic vibe of our architecture is balanced by the stunning natural beauty of the landscape and the crystal clear blue water that surrounds it.
Whether you want to say your vows inside, outside or barefoot on the the beach, we have a range of picture-perfect locations to hold your dream ceremony.
Our four signature spaces offer flexibility for stand-up or sit-down arrangements for your ceremony and reception:
The Tin Shed is a large rustic hall with staging, lighting and a deck with water views. The large outdoor cooking area is ideal for BBQs or spit-roast feasts.
The Banksia Room has panoramic views across the bay and features adjoining commercial kitchen, a full bar and a romantic sandstone-paved outdoor fire-pit.
An open air Amphitheatre has been up-cycled from the the former slew wall. It has a wonderful natural acoustic, sea view back-drop and a grassy hill with bean bags and deck chairs for casual, comfy seating.
Windlass Deck, an open-air wooden deck overlooking stunning views of Windlass Bay and Maria Island is perfect for a wedding ceremony.
Our team of horticulturalists have created a prolific organic garden where you can source local produce and flowers. Our commercial kitchen offers the flexibility of working with our preferred caterers and local east coast wines and spirits, or you can organise your own.
On site accommodation features stunning sea view Shacks for the wedding party and a stylish Glamping Field for your guests. Choose from a range of extra experiences such as tree planting, horticulture classes, historic walks or private trips to Maria Island to make your wedding the one everyone wants to be invited to.
Photos simply don’t do this place justice. You have to see it for yourself. Get in contact to organise a site visit. We’d love to show you around and work with you to tailor a package that suits your needs.
