Sarah and Chris shared a beautiful friendship before they decided to take their relationship to the next level. Said Sarah, “We grew closer as we were both single parents, sharing similar struggles with being the working parents of young children. We now have a beautiful blended family, together with a loving friendship – and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Sarah and Chris’ wedding ceremony was held on a newly grassed area in front of the Barilla Bay restaurant, overlooking Barilla Bay itself. “This area was perfect for an outdoor garden wedding,” said Sarah, “with beautiful lush grass, and a perfect line of trees. It provided a stunning backdrop for our ceremony.”
The pair chose Barilla Bay’s spacious, contemporary restaurant in which to hold their reception. “The venue was perfect for our 80 person guest list. It has a modern vibe, and with a few small touches we created a gorgeous rustic theme,” said Sarah. “Maddy, the event coordinator, went above and beyond to ensure both our ceremony and reception were perfect. I could not recommend this venue more highly,” she said.
Sarah and Chris spent the week leading up to their wedding worrying about the weather as rain had been forecast. “However, on the day the weather gods were kind and we had beautiful sunshine for our afternoon ceremony, and then amazing cloud cover as captured in our photos,” Sarah said.
The couple’s only hitch, which turned out to be hilarious, was a flight landing directly above them just as they were declared husband and wife. “It provided a nice spectacle for our guests, and a lovely shot in our wedding video!” Sarah said.
