The Champagne breakfast wedding

champagne breakfastForgo the standard reception dinner by choosing to host a champagne breakfast wedding.

Obviously French Champagne is top of your list of menu must-haves and you can serve up a veritable feast of traditional breakfast fare such as pastries, waffles and scones, together with brunch time staples like smoked salmon, cheeses and canapés.

A breakfast reception is best held outdoors, so when setting the date go for spring or summer time and choose plush gardens or a beachside venue.

Recent bride Amanda Chapell, 31, says she and her fiancé Sam opted for a breakfast wedding so that they could both relax with friends and family and not have to worry about planning an elaborate reception.

“Sam and I wanted a simple wedding without all the fuss and fanfare,” says Amanda. “We held our nuptials early and then enjoyed a laidback morning reception – it was perfect.”

A Champagne breakfast reception is generally less expensive than a dinner service – although it might depend on the type and vintage of your bubbles, not to mention how many cases your guests consume – so if you’re carefully watching your budget this may be the option for you.
